Companies involved in the packing and delivery of products will be familiar with the importance of ensuring goods are kept free from damage in transit and can be unpacked with confidence.
Businesses that achieve this are more likely to be successful and respected. The method generally employed is by the use of Voidfill in packaging. This can include a range of products from wood wool, newsprint, polystyrene chips and moulded shapes, air-filled pillows, bubble wrap, greenfill, in-situ blown cushioning and no doubt others. Many of these materials are not sympathetic to our environment or take up valuable storage space. These systems have not provided the optimum features for void filling. Hence the British packaging industry has been seeking a solution to meet and overcome the current weakness of conventional void fill.
The solution has been secured by these two companies. Ranpak is the world leading innovator of paper-based packaging systems and Automated Packaging Systems way ahead in designing and manufacturing flexible packing systems both providing a total systems approach. Your packaging requirements are thoroughly investigated so that the key issues are understood and a complete system provided to meet them. Tailoring the Ranpak paper packaging system to your needs means your packing operation is smooth working and ensures safe arrival of products at their destination.
Ranpak provides a range of extremely versatile paper packaging systems that form different types of paper into light duty, high-speed medium duty and heavy duty cushioning for all in-the-box packaging needs. These paper converting machines form cushioning pads and configurations for blocking, bracing, void fill and wrapping properties. Automated Packaging Systems offer machine systems to produce air pillows that can be ultra lightweight and puncture resistant for on-demand protection against vibration and shock, ensuring reduced returns and increasing customer satisfaction.
There’s no longer any need to take up valuable storage space with stock bags of loose fill or similar products. Paper or air pillow machines are small footprint systems that provide on-demand rapid void filling and fast movement of boxes through the end-of-line transition.
In an increasingly eco-friendly aware world priority is now given to using products for safe packing and shipment that reduce landfill and carbon footprint. Paper maximises the value of environmental benefit being recyclable and easily disposed of Air pillows are available in Reprocessed, Oxodegradable and Oxodegradable Reprocessed options. Reprocessed materials are identified by the GEOTECH logo. Air pillows, quilts and tubes are understandably mainly comprised of air, vastly reducing the volume of material for bio-degrading or recycling.
PadPak SR is highly versatile paper packaging system that converts multi-ply kraft paper into cushioning pads for speedy, efficient cushioning, blocking and bracing, and wrapping for all in-the-box needs. The converter forms the paper into a protective, shock absorbing paper pad through a patented folding and stitching process. Four degrees of operation, including pre-set lengths or footswitch, allow the packer versatility during packing. The PadPak is also height adjustable, rotates and can be used in a vertical or horizontal position for increased versatility.
The PadPak LC, light cushioning converter forms 20 or 25kg fanfold kraft paper into a light cushioning pad for fast, efficient cushioning, blocking and bracing or void fill packaging applications. Again, this converter forms the paper into a protective, shock absorbing paper pad through a patented folding and stitching process. The unique converter design and its five varying modes of operation allow its use in batch mode or for on-demand production.
The PadPak Compact Cushioning converter is the solution to pack and protect smaller items at the packers workstation. Due to the small footprint of the machine, the system can be placed on the workstation or on a floor stand next to it. Using 1-ply or 2-ply options both light and heavy products can be packed with top rate protective performance.
FillPak Table Top converter forms 38 cm singleply, fanfold kraft paper into a PaperStar configuration which maximises volume, for speedy and effective void fill material to protect materials in transit. Place a FillPack TT at multiple packing stations to maintain packing efficiency while minimising material cost and usage. FillPak TT is conveniently operated by a foot pedal and dispenses void fill material directly into a box, providing maximum throughput.
Automated Packaging Systems AirPouch air pillows provide on-demand security against vibration and shock during handling and shipping making it an optimal solution for fragile products. These air pillows are ultra-lightweight and puncture resistant giving significant improvement to the protection and reducing packing and shipping costs. Air pillows are a convenient and clean voidfill option and with their transparency make product identification in the box much easier. Thicker grades of AirPouch are available for more demanding applications using the exclusive EZ-Tear perforations, a patented technology that allows a quick tear off of pillows for the packers’ on-demand use. These specially designed perforations allow more air into each pillow for higher material yield and less cost per cubic metre.
GeoTech the environmentally friendly air pillows are available in Reprocessed, Oxodegradable and Oxodegradable Reprocessed options. Stock printed with the GeoTech logo for end-user awareness and can be custom printed as required. Available in a range of lengths, widths and thicknesses. A fantastic voidfill option.
FastWrap bubble on-demand offers lightweight voidfill wrapping, interleaving and top-fill bubble quilt to protect products in transit. This bubble quilt is pre-perforated every 150mm for the packer to select the right amount of material thus reducing waste. The channel-filled honeycomb structure allows for multi-directional wrapping improving protection of the product. This product is available in Reprocessed and Oxodegradable grades in 300 and 600 mm widths.
FastWrap Protective tubes feature the exclusive EZ-Tear perforations making it easier to choose the Right number of tubes for the application. This EZ-Tear product enables maximum inflation of the tubes, to give higher material yield and lower cost per cubic metre. Again available in Reprocessed and Oxodegradable options in 350 mm widths.
